Nuclear family sometimes called elementary family, is a group of people united by a relationship such as marriage it consists of a pair of adults and their socially recognized child (meaning the child does not have to be biologically theirs) it typically consisted of a man and women but due to the increase of acceptance in same sex relationships it may now consist of same sex parents. A nuclear family is the most basic form of family consisting of 2 generations e.g parents and children, there is generally only one child, there are two types of nuclear family they are the family of orientation and the family of procreation they are almost considered to be 2 stages of the nuclear family stage 1 is when a child is born into are brought into the family and is then brought up this is orientation the next stage is when the family is established such as through marriage (the adult after being brought up in the orientation family). The modern nuclear family is mostly found in wealthy countries such as the USA and the UK and is less common in poorer societies the nuclear family completely depends on the bonds between the family especially between husband and wife (or other in same sex relationships) and on the bond between parent and child this bond tends to break as the child gets older. Due to the modernisation of today’s society there is a drastic change to the amount of nuclear families in the world there has been dramatic changes to the social standing since the theory of Murdock in 1949 such as the social order the independence of women for instance has changed allowing women to create their own lives instead of relying on men to run the family this has caused a decline in nuclear families around the world due to this new family types have been born and how family’s work have change in a country such as the uk the women likes to have made the future before she makes
