Nike Brand Loyalty

I am a loyal Nike brand buyer. The name Nike is from the Greek language and means “goddess of victory”. I was introduced to the Nike quality while I was managing a Lady Foot Locker. Managing a specialty tennis shoe retail store allowed opportunity to learn about many brands, their benefits, and their target market. One of the most effective ways Nike was able to create a loyal brand buyer out of me was to let us “test drive” the products. Throughout my time with the store I received different Nike shoes, among other brands, to wear and sell. Being able to wear the different shoes, I was able to better understand the benefits of the different types of shoes, and why Nike is so popular. Nike has a memorable slogan of “Just do it” and the swoosh logo, which most people would be able to recognize. Nike sells quality athletic shoes and workout accessories; the packaging for Nike products can vary, due to the wide range of products offered. The Nike swoosh logo is what makes their product recognizable. When the logo was created it was mean to represent the wing of a Greek Goddess, to match the name Nike. The colors most commonly found on Nike packaging is black, orange and white; the shoe boxes are most distinct with this color combination. Along with a recognizable logo and slogan, Nike has a long list of well-known athletes to promote the brand. Nike shoes would be categorized as a shopping product. Shopping products are items that a consumer will spend a good amount of time comparing alternative. Nike tennis shoes could also be consider a specialty product in the sense that consumers show a strong preference for them and they will spend considerable amounts of time shopping for the best.
