O’Connor, Ph.D. January 23, 2011 Abstract Nestlé is a multinational organization that provides nutritional and beverage products. Its products are very well know and widely accepted around the world. The environmental factors that impact the company profitability are analyzed by using the SWOT approach. This analysis shows that the company has many strengths and opportunities upon which the company is able to maintain its global leadership. However, being a very well established organization is not enough to guarantee an ensured future. Therefore, many external environmental factors and uncertain future scenarios are considerations that the company needs to take into account. Some positive changes are also necessary, and recommendations to the firm are necessary to accomplish its financial goals. SWOT Analysis of Nestle and Factors Influencing the Company Case Overview The purpose of this study is to undertake a strategic SWOT analysis of Nestlé S.A, as well as to elucidate external influences that impact the organization, and to provide some recommendations for changes on key structural and operational components of the organization. Since its inception in 1866, Nestlé has evolved into the world’s leader food and beverage company. Nestlé has a very diversified product line that includes food, milk, chocolate, coffee, bottled water, and pet products. The company has a global presence in almost every country in the world employing more than 280,000 people with more than 450 factories and operations.
