Nederlander Concerts Case Study 1. Nederlander Concerts competes for audiences and with other concert arenas and promoters. Do you think it also competes for those audiences with TV, movies; CD’s DVD’s, and sports events? Why or why not? If yes, what implication does this type of competition have for Nederland’s business? I do believe that Nederland Concerts competes with; TV, movies, cd’s, DVD’s, streaming video’s, and sports events because of many reasons. Timing for one, I never have time to or the money to go to a concert; watching TV, DVD’s or streaming videos is a lot cheaper and economical for me and many other Americans who are on budgets. Purchasing the DVD and being able to watch it when it is convenient for me and easier that going to a concert. Nederland Concerts also competes with sports events, an American past time. Americans will either go to the game if they can afford it or watch it on the TV, Especially if they are a hardcore sports fan. So all of these factors make it hard on the concert industry. 2. How many different groups can you think of whose needs Nederlander Concerts must satisfy to remain a successful business? Nederlander must meet the needs of the stockholders, the partners, the ticket buyers or customers, the band members, and the community. If they don’t continue to meet their needs they won’t continue to be successful and won’t stay in business. 3. Give an example showing how Nederlander Concerts uses each of the four factors of productions. Nederland Concerts uses each of the four factors of production. Entrepreneurship, the owner or owners of Nederland concerts will be financing the company till it can take care of itself and make a healthy profit.
