Learning something new can be a scary experience especially for a 7 year old girl .one of the hardest things I’ve done was learn how to swim. I was always scared of water and drowning, but decide swimming was an important skill that I should learn .I also thought it would be good exercise and help me become physically stronger. What I didn’t realize what who I would be taking my swimming lessons with.
New situations always make me a bit nervous, and my first time swimming was no exception .after I changed into my bathing suit in the locker room, I stood timidly by the side of the pool waiting for the teacher and other students to show up. My conscience started to kick in and I felt nervous, I started tapping my foot, glanced over at the pool and felt kind of embarrassed because I didn’t know how to swim. The swim instructor showed up
“How are you? Are you ready to swim?” she said. I knotted my head and replied
“Yes “. Little did she know how scared I was and felt embarrassed that I didn’t know how to swim. Two students showed up they were 3 years old, than two minutes another girl showed up she was around 4, 5 years old. Now I was more embarrassed than ever I was the oldest one there , I started feeling more nervous .
“Time to get in the pool “said the instructor
She made all of the students sit on the first steps of the pool, I was on the far left side all the smaller kids were to the right .i started thinking that maybe my mom had signed me up to the wrong class and hoping I would be with kids my age not toddlers . I was so wrong that was the right class and I was in it , I was the oldest one there that didn’t know how to swim , my self confidence dropped I was super embarrassed , because what kind of girl my age doesn’t know how to swim. It was okay if toddlers don’t know how to swim because there small and its okay if they’re taking lessons because there still small. As the swim lesson started the instructor started by teaching us...
