The job of a salesperson ranges from order takers to order getters. Personal selling is the key to developing strong relationships because it is directed toward achieving mutually satisfying results between customer and seller, which will sustain and enhance future interactions this is very important because it is a lot cheaper to retain current customers than to attract new ones. However, “In a results-oriented environment, the foundation of many compensation systems, sales quotas can focus sellers and managers in a direction inconsistent with customer-oriented selling.”(“Evans”,
Advertising Synthesis Essay The growth of media has paved the way for numerous outlets for advertising. Millions of people reading magazines, watching TV, listening to the radio and surfing the web are constantly bombarded with ads for different products or services. Although the creation of media has given us great power and knowledge, we see its consequences in our personal lives and in society as a whole. Advertising has altered the perception of wants versus needs, which has led to a significant change of the economy and its consumer capital. Whether many would prefer to admit or not, advertising has changed society- modifying the way Americans think and act in today's day and age, though not entirely for the better.
Commercial: This usually known as a private sector and includes organisation. Such as retail, hospitality, and leisure. The commercial sector is motivated to making profit and increase profit, attract new customers and build on existing relationships. Customer service focuses on sales and after sales service - supporting the customer before, during and after their purchase to ensure their needs are met. Public: Public services organisations such as NHS, police, hospitals, fire service, housing departments and other organisations which provide services to the public and are not necessarily profit making.
It seems the media is growing more powerful with time which is, in my opinion, both good and bad. The media takes full advantage of their first amendment right and the freedom of the press. The media has three main roles and responsibilities to the American public, which I will cover in detail. I will explain how these responsibilities fit in with my current events project on our economy. Our politicians have a great influence over what the media reports as well.
The obvious downside to the medias role in our political endeavors, is the continuos bias that it portrays, the high cost to run any sort of political or public directive, and that they simply operate under the initiative of profit. The amount of money required to reach citizens with political messages has spiraled upward and now dominates political campaigns. Television formats favor short, emotional appeals over reasoned, thoughtful debate. Typical claims of liberal or conservative bias are most often in the eyes of the beholder, however the levels of managed news, spin and journalistic punditry feed these perceptions of bias in the news. As a result, the deeper biases reflected in sensationalism often leave citizens confused about issues which forces them to deconstruct this alternately managed and frenzied news in order to make sound judgements about their society and government.
Media and communication have the utmost control over our lives, allowing marketing ploys, advertisements, and campaigns to become our greatest influencers as a society. These influences mold our ideals, our interests, and our values. Advertising and marketing campaigns can be seen anywhere and everywhere. From interstate billboards to pop-up adds on iPhone applications. As a society we have molded ourselves into materialistic idealists, constantly demanding bigger, better and more beautiful.
What is meant by this is sites such as Google or Facebook give us free services, or so we think, but what is really happening is they collect our personal information and sell them to businesses so they can use it to lure us into buying their products through specialized ads. In my opinion, this is a smart business tactic, although not the best. Just because we give out certain interests we have, it doesn’t mean that it’s the only interest we have. It would be much smarter to give a variety of ads so that people are open to looking at something they didn’t even know that they may need or enjoy. There is only so much you can give us of something we already
