My Strongest Strength

2011 NICHOLE CHANNEL GROUP DYNAMICS: PSY 315 6/22/2011 Assessment Assignment I will have to say that my strongest strength as a group leader and/or member is empathy and flexibility to conform when needed. The reason I picked these two because I feel in order to be a good leader and/or member you should be able to have empathy for others. I don’t think you can deal with people just on one level or aspect. Everyone perceives things or take information differently and will handle different situation also differently. Knowing this I like to watch people and ask several questions. Afterward I like to step back and observe them in their own element. Even as little as watching them talk on the phone can be considered as being in their own element. In today society people are not as discreet and like it use to be due to technology. They do not realize how much you can tell about them just listening and watching while they are on the phone or talking to someone they know. Once I get to know a little about that person I will be able to relate to them. Sometimes is not possible to get to know the group members in their own element. When that is not possible I have to rely more heavily on what I call my “Second Sense”. This means I introduce myself and ask a couple of questions and how they carry themselves. Yes, first impressions are somewhat important to a point. First impressions are not always true so I give people the benefit of the doubt. Usually that all it takes for people to talk about themselves asking a few question. Once I know a little about everyone in the group I have a broad category to place them in. Depending on how comfortable I feel with the group I will either decide to be the leader or group member. That might sound a little puzzling on how I chose my place in the group but it normally works well for me. For instance I would chose
