My Name is Khan CHARACTERS: * Rizwan Khan – a Muslim who suffers from Asperger Syndrome; the main character in the story * Mandira – a divorcee with a young son; she became the wife of Rizwan * Sameer / Sam – the young son of Mandira and was killed by a gang of students * Reese – the best friend of Sameer and the witness of Sam’s death * Zakir – the brother of Rizwan who left their home because of his jealousy with Rizwan * Haseena – the wife of Zakir who diagnoses and helped Rizwan with his condition * Mark – the father of Reese. He is a reporter who dies during a cover of war in Afghanistan * Sarah – the mother of Reese. A good friend of Mandira * Dr. Faisal Rahman – a terrorist who was arrested because of Rizwan * Funny-hair Joel and Mama Jenny – Black Americans who became friends with Rizwan in Georgia PLOT: Rizwan Khan is a Muslim child who suffers from Asperger Syndrome, a kind of autism that makes him act differently compare to other children. However, he has extraordinary intelligence and a special ability to repair mechanical things. Because of his condition, he got extra attention from his mother that led to the jealousy of his brother Zakir, who later on left their home and live in the United States. After the death of their mother, Rizwan live with his brother in San Francisco where he met Zakir’s wife, Haseena. She is a psychologist who diagnoses Rizwan’s condition (Asperger Syndrome) which was unknown to everyone before. Rizwan worked for Zakir as a salesman of the company’s beauty products and in the process he meets Mandira, a Hindu woman. Mandira is a hairdresser and a single mother of her young son, Sameer.
