As a nation, America should be proud of the first people that lived there, and should embrace Native Americans as a part of our history. However, this has not always been the way that America looks at Native Americans, as this country went through a time in the late 19th century when we wanted to eradicate their entire population, and take all their land for ourselves and our westward expansion. Because of these selfish, inhumane ideas, terrible things like The Trail of Tears happened, and if Indian tribes were not being killed, they were being converted by force. One of the things that suffered along with the Native American cultures and tribes, was their languages. These beautiful, sophisticated
Later the indians suspected the colonists wanted to rule them and control the colony. When captain John Smith was appointed as a member of the council and being sent to the colony in dire times of famine. He forced all people to labor stating that “ He that will not work shall not eat” which was proven to be very effective, he also dealt with mutiny from the indians very well. To settle matters even more he bargained with the indians as well. It was due to his leadership that the colony survived.

People are realizing this racism when the Washington Redskins cancelled seven trademarks and there logo because of several complaints from tribes. They are hoping that one day aboriginals will get the respect they deserve.
As Wendy Rose writes, her words transform into the scar tissue of her trauma, both indicating and masking her emotional wounds. In “Neon Scars”, Rose projects her authorial voice in a direct and cutting fashion to express her turmoil from the disconnectedness from her roots that she experiences. Born a mixed blood Native American, she addresses the lack of identity she feels due to the disparity between her European background and her Native American appearance. Additionally, she lives with the face of a Hopi native, but empty handed in claiming a spot in her tribe. Rose aims at portraying feelings of familial alienation through the scattered format of her autobiography where she outlines both the origins of her family and current psychological
Unlike the white people, the American Indians appreciated their land and resources and lived in harmony with their surroundings. As Ortiz mentions, “Indians had to fight a desperate rearguard action to survive its [the white frontier’s] advance, so they had neither the time nor the means to tell their stories” (Ortiz 3). White men have all but destroyed a great deal of our environment. American Indians and those who have Native American heritages feel passionate about their histories. They have been wronged by being overshadowed by the white man’s inaccurate account of events.

Miles, Ph.D. Candidate, LPC, LCDC A Historical Report on Native Americans The story of the Native Americans is one of the most unsettling chapters in American history. From a historian’s perspective, this ethnic group started with unimaginable oppression, warfare, and disease from the moment European immigrants landed in America. Even the name “Indian” was a mistake in their identity. Unfortunately, this label remains today, and we will never know what this race of people would be like today if they were never “discovered”.

Using this kinship system a San has the ability to find a relative in almost any band they visit. The San culture is to survive off the land.
Local Individuals in America considered that the smoke and steam will clean off their illnesses. Local Individuals in America also had plenty of events that were about treatment. While they may seem unusual, these customs kept Native Americans in America healthy for hundreds of
This was after the Jonathon Edwards shot Squanto’s new tribe leader’s son. Lastly, The English settlers benefitted the most. They were taught how to work and survive the new land of America.
