Robert Madril Thompson/7 Life skills 22 Feb. 2010 My Core Beliefs Although in present day there are many many bad things that happen in every day life. From drug use to stealing and even murdering, i think its still very important to have core beliefs. A core belief to me is a way of living that will never change no matter what the circumstance. One core belief that i have is to always try your hardest. I think this is the most important character you can have because it will push you through life and help you become a more reliable and better person.
I think this poem represent all the people that gave their lives up for us, not only in Ypres but everywhere else, that they will live on forever in our memories. My close uncle, Orlando Muñoz, is a veteran and I am very proud of him. He is an inspiration to my family and I, we love what he does for this country, and in spite of all the hard work and effort it takes, he loves what he does. He is the example of a true American citizen. He has been serving for 18 years from the moment he graduated high school.
His family was the most significant one. He came from a family of military leaders that influenced him to get the most out of what he could and seek a career in the military. His mother was a big influence in his life. She always kept a close eye on him in the earlier stages of his life. She cared about him and believed of what he was capable to do in his life so much that even followed him to West Point when he was a cadet, and lived there so she could be close to him.
Gen Powell has given me an idol, a hero to look up to. I believe that we share somewhat of a similar background. I also understand the great opportunity that our parents have handed to us, by coming to this country. I appreciate the fact that I can become whatever I set my mind to, because America is the land of opportunity. As a United States soldier, I also have be trained that it takes hard work, motivation, and dedication to make your dreams come true.
We pray. Until you’re home again”(jeep). Immediately the audience gets the sense of it being about soldiers in the United States Military. This automatically appeals pathos to the viewer; it brings out the memories of how our country has been defended by the proud serving men and women. Every American at that point feels great pride for our country and the service members.
The veterans keep Unites States Citizens protected every day with great courage and determination, they are most deserved of a special day of remembrance. It was originally named Armistice Day but in 1954 it was renamed Veterans Day. Veterans Day honors both fallen and living military servicemen and servicewomen. We observe
Home of the Free Because of the Brave Over the many years of American history, the men and women of our nation's military services have been seen as fighters, warriors, and most importantly, as heroes. These men and women are sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, and friends. They fight to keep their friends and family free so that they might have the opportunity to pursue happiness with all of their ability while being free to do the things they wish to do, worship what they wish to worship, and print what they wish to print. They fight for the idea of the children of our nation's future, so that they can have the same rights and freedoms that their parents have been blessed with. In our nation's national anthem, one of the most important lines is that which reads, "the land of the free, and the home of the brave."
Senior citizens groups also are important to the growth of Kwanzaa, said Payne, who believes seniors and youth often make ideal partners “In order for them (the youth) to become great people, like I know they can be, we have to draw on the ancestors for strength,” she said. “We are a stronger people than what has been portrayed.”. The seven principles of Kwanzaa work, said Payne, who embraced its core beliefs, character building, family structure, and discipline when she was principal of Hanley Elementary. Since the Seven Principles of Kwanzaa should be implemented all year long, let’s talk about how to make that happen. Please keep in mind that Kwanzaa is not affiliated with any particular religion.
After that event in those early years of my life it continued to be hard for me to understand that there stands no chance of seeing him again . I get through the painful times by thinking of how thankful I remain. I consider that I own so much and this fact lessens my burden. By bearing the truth I find that it makes me stronger. Brave Antigone, strong and bold, shares the same values as I do in my life.
Helping starts with knowing yourself and knowing what you are good at. There are many characteristics that make up the person I am. I am humble, strong, caring and determine person. I have developed these characteristics over a long period of time. I learned humility through life struggles that have shown me that people who are arrogant and boastful aren’t really liked.
