They were only about a mile from where they were. They found an old bunker and a cliff look-over. They started there. About 4 days in they finished the destroyed town. They went to go check the bunker out, but it was bolted shut and just decided not to try.
I hate to say this, but a couple of my mom’s brothers and sisters are racists. After September 11, my family became extremely racists and it was to the point that they could not stand to look at anyone who came from the Middle East. I think that was wrong of them because half of those who came to America from the Middle East came here to get away from all of the violence there. They should be able to come here with open arms knowing it is safe. Yes September 11 was a sad day for us all and I think that is when the racist profiling began to start up again.
The reason they were so mean and breaking the law was that simply they just hated each other. I think this family should leave the town for several years and then, when they have thought about their wrong doing, and then they should come
Stealing is almost unheard of in Ellijay, the townspeople know that growth only happens when everyone plays their part. In contrast, people in Jacksonville are always trying to get something for free or take it from the next
From the experience that came across my door, twelve years ago on the seventeenth of this month. My own way of thinking is this; I could be a hateful, uncaring and take what I want, because I am who I am. Just like Gilagamesh. With the death that is put on my door step, I found a different side of myself. In the beginning I was hateful, mad, and did not care who got in my way.
The struggle to survive causes tension throughout the people living in the house. Also, Ethan wanted to move to the city after one year but when he asked Zeena about it, she suddenly got sick. It gives off a dark and hopeless mood. This contributes to the theme of “Lonliness leads to bad decisions,” because he feared of being alone so he married Zeena and he still feels alone because he doesn’t love her. He then makes the bad decision to kill both himself and Mattie.
It was very obvious that Holden was feeling lonely throughout the book and even with all the people around him, he just felt like nothing was worth living because the one thing he loved was gone. It hurt so badly that Holden considered the possibility of suicide, but even that made him even more depressed. As stated in the book “What I really felt like, though, was committing suicide. I felt like jumping out the window. I probably would’ve done it, too, if I’d been sure somebody’d cover me up as soon as I landed” (Salinger 104).
The three things that affected North Vietnamese, hating Americans, living in harsh conditions and receiving severe injuries were all things they had to deal with during and after the war. They hated the Americans for causing deaths and poisoning land that will now cause problems for North Vietnamese today. The harsh conditions led to injuries which also made them hate Americans. As much as they hated them at that time, they now forgive and try to move forward from what happened. The Vietnam War definitely affected them in a bad way but at least they look into the future and not think of the past.
His own family disapproved of it. The reason for that was because they knew it was going to be biased. There were too many risks in taking that case. He risks being criticized by the townsfolk in Maycomb. Mrs. Dubose criticizes him at one point and says, “Atticus is a Nigger lover!” or when she says, “Your father’s no better than the niggers and trash he works for!” He also puts his re-election for legislature in jeopardy because of all the racist people living there.
A death camp just sounds horrible, and I am unsure if I would be able to handle myself. You are basically watching your entire community diminish before your eyes. I think that I would probably become so hostile in that type of an environment just towards everyone around me due to a lack of food, nutrition, and clothing. Everyone should be interested in a historical site like Holocaust Memorial Center because it is an amazing place that you can learn so much from. As a community, we should all be interested in an encounter with this historical site because it has changed our lives forever by changing the course of history drastically.
