As everyone should know, family is the most important thing in any one’s life. In mine they are, and that’s what brings me to this particular event that just recently happened in my family.
This event has been less- than- admirable, it’s when my grandmother and grandfather were in the hospital.
About one year ago my grandmother was in the kitchen making her and my grandfather a cup of coffee. She hadn’t been feeling well. In their kitchen where the coffee pot was, there was just a little walk way because there was an island right behind the counter where the coffee pot was at. My grandmother had a heart attack, and fell right between the island and the counter. My grandfather was scared because he couldn’t get to her. He called 911.
My grandmother arrived at the hospital and had to have a triple bypass surgery. She recovered and immediately quit smoking. She’s been fine now for two years. She’s also still not smoking.
Recently, my grandmother kept getting short of breath. She and my grandfather were at the grocery store and she could barely keep her breath. My grandfather told her that she was going to the doctor. She refused, but he drove her straight there after they left the store. He immediately admitted her into the hospital because she has pneumonia. They also found that she had blood clots in her lungs. She had to stay in the hospital for over a week while they gave her shots in the stomach trying to dissolve the blood clots. Now, she is at home but has to stay on oxygen until her next appointment.
The day after my grandmother came home my grandfather had to go get a stress test done. They admitted him straight into the hospital and scheduled him open heart surgery, and a surgery to put stints into his kidneys the next day. He had his surgery and was placed into ICU for two days. They placed him in a private room and told him that if everything went okay and he could breathe on his own with no help of oxygen then...
