My Forever Inspiration From the words of Maya Angelou, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel”. I have chosen to write about a woman who has made a key impact in my life. She is like a rose, beautiful to look at, yet tough at the same time. She has taught me patience and independence and to never give up no matter how far you stray off your path. This woman is my mother and she is my inspiration in life. In many ways my mother is like a rose, I look at a rose and think of how beautiful they are, I look at their thorns and see how their stem protects them from harm. My mother treated me like a rose. Growing up she was my guidance and support, she has been with me through all the good times and the bad times, no matter how bad I screwed up. She was my strength and protection I needed in life from my very first steps to the day I walked through college doors. My mother is more than just a rose; she is my rock, she’s loving, and a hardworking caring individual. She basically raised my brother and I on her own, my father was very in and out of the picture. I can remember her being stressed out after a long work day from dealing with clients to dealing with my brother and I. Although under stressful conditions my mother kept us happy, she fed us, and clothed us. She did whatever it took to keep us together. My mother also taught us morals, as to how important it is to obtain a good education and work hard for the things you want that way life would not be so hard and we could get by on our own. More so, not only is my mother my rock, she is my best friend, she was the one person that was always there for me when no one else was. She helped me grasp a better understanding of life, she listened to every whine and every little whim I had. She is the one person who had me
