My Experience with the Park University Enrollment Process After serving in the military for eleven years and not taking advantage of the benefits of free education, I decided to begin on a journey to enrich my career with a college education. With much deliberation over accreditation with the Navy College Office and talking with other colleges, I finally went to the Park Registration Office where my mediocre at best registration process began. After the confusing introduction into Tuition Assistance, I was presented with the dilemma of which college I should attend. I hadn’t really given the idea of college much thought, mainly due to juggling a military career with family life means you can’t really find the extra time. I decided that since this was my first go at college, that an in class course would be much easier to grasp than an online course, so I chose Park University for their Criminal Justice degree program. I began my journey from the Navy College Office and walked down the long cinder blocked hallway, until I reached the very last door on the left and was suddenly hit with a stench of cigarettes and caffeinated drinks. I was greeted promptly by two middle aged women, almost like they were waiting for someone to walk through the doors. I was sat down and as we went over the enrollment process, it all seemed a bit overwhelming with all the information passed along. After the enrollment discussion, she explained with my military service and training, I was only 15 credits from an Associate’s degree and 60 credits away from a Bachelor’s degree. SIGN ME UP! Thinking I could enroll right then and there, she informed me the entire application had to be completed online. After two days of procrastinating, I finally logged onto the Park University website and everything was going along nicely until the application
