“ I volunteered to not only better myself but to better the lives of those facing hard times due to not being able to find jobs or living in an actual house.” 2. What is the purpose of the organization for which you volunteer? “We help the homeless and the poor get help to start new jobs and stay in motels. We collect funds and donations for those that are struggling.” 3. What duties do you perform to aid the organization?
Some people feel like welfare is bad for society because its just giving people a reason not to work and be lazy. While others feel like without welfare many families will starve because of a job loss or something else. I feel like welfare helps you and is good for you to a certain extent because a lot of people try to live off it so they won’t have to get a job. Everybody has a strong opinion on this subject which makes it interesting to research and learn more about. My group gave out one hundred survey’s to random people of all ages and genders.
Sacrifice was something that I had to learn to tolerate when returning to school. Spending time with my family became less of a benefit that I once enjoyed and that many take for granted. Sleep deprivation and personal time was also something that returning to school had an impact on. Study habits are difficult to maintain and focus, due to my children wanting my attention non-stop. My parents support in this process has been a blessing as they’ve taken much of the burden therefore providing peaceful nights and lessening some of the stormy days.
My life has been full of experiences in which transitional learning took place. The most profound is the lesson I am currently learning. My experience that is in my life is that I made a choice to go back to school to get a better education about working with children, so I can become a teacher. The reason why I am doing this is because I want
I realize that I do not know very much about local resources. I have started a portfolio, which I update constantly; however, there is not enough information about local resources which are available for my clients. As for collaboration, sometimes I feel as if I should already know things because I have been there for a while and get a little embarrassed to ask, therefore causing me to feel as if I am on my own. Whenever I do supervision time, my MSW always tells me that I am doing a great job. I am sure I can improve in many areas and I wish my MSW would tell me what those areas
I’ve ran across it in real life and noticed it, and it wasn’t something I liked seeing I felt like the parents are stupid if they can change how their child is being raised and where but they chose not to move them. Anderson also speaks on how respect is such a powerfully loose used word in the code of the streets. When Anderson furthers his essay he makes distinction of the different types of families in the streets. The first is “decent”; he spoke on this with the intent of expressing the families that does everything in their power to make sure but their parents work hard and are willing to sacrifice for their children just so they will have, more classified as the working poor. Those who try to excel and go above and beyond usually deals with a lot while doing so, so thus for most people just work extremely hard to stay where they are now.
Normal questions like “What caused your homelessness?” seem almost corny, and make me feel like a social worker, which Im not yet..lol. Rarely is there a simple answer to that one, anyway. But Scott is perceptive, and asks me if I want to know about his current position. The interview is just about who you are, I tell Scott. Just so my class gets a glimpse of the person and how real change has impacted your life.. We can talk about your homelessness, if you want.
Without the knowledge and background of what the job entails one may not have the passion or love of people to even cope or deal with individuals from different ethnic backgrounds. Every individual is different each comes with their own set of needs and or wants. Human Service professions have to have the patience and structure to help a needy family or individual. Long time ago this profession was not so pronounce even though they were always in need of these Human Services workers all over from schools , to church and even doctor office . This field is so board now it covers so many different aspects of each and every one of us
The government should set up work programs for these people to help them get better jobs and make enough money to survive. The politicians in Washington D.C. and all over the U.S. want nothing more than to cut back on government funding for the people in poverty. The government doesn’t believe that most of the people actually need this money from AFDC. They can’t get it because they don’t meet the proper criteria set by the government. Either they’re not poor enough, they’re not poor in the right way ‘ or they need the money for the wrong reasons.
Poor people are all lazy people there sometimes unfortunate people in that category as well but poor people never give chance at not being poor thats why there lazy. Being poor can be changed from doing simple things but poor people don't care to try those things. Some poor people may be afraid of change which may make a lazy poor person homeless which most poor people don't won't to stoop to that low of level. If more poor people got out of the house and tried new jobs America would be a better place but it's because of poor people America is kurupt. Poor people encourage other not poor people to better than them and kind of set an example of what you don't want to be There are millions of dollars that are out there to have but some people need to just get up and find it for example most poor people start to give up and they believe that there is nothing else to do but to be poor and and they can never have money again which is not true they can but they have to make an effort to go out there and get that money.
