My College Experience

My First Semester Experience My first semester so far at URI has been for the most part s learning experience and a very great time. The classes that I am taking are Psych, Math, English, History, and Communications. They are all classified as general education classes. They taught me about my learning skills and well as my study skills. I currently am a Psychology Major just wish to eventually transfer into Public Relations. From this semester I realized that I am a people person and that I enjoy presenting in from of people and like meeting new people. All of these characteristics I learned about myself from leaving home to a life that I was use to, to a new and exciting life at the University of Rhode Island. I was never nervous about coming to college, I was ready to leave home and meet new people and experience a new life away from home and away from my family. I was lucky enough to have great roommates; we got along great from the start and today I would say that they already have became my best friends here at school. My roommate and I decided at orientation to take all of the same classes to help each other transition into the college life as well as being able to help study for tests and help with assignments. The most challenging part of coming to college would have to be being away from my family and boyfriend. From seeing people I love everyday, to only once a month became a harsh reality. It has gotten easier and now became a part of my da knowing that my home is now at URI. I love that I get to call this school my home. Its great to go home and see my loved ones but at the end of the weekend all I want is to be back at school with my friends and new family that I made here by joining Alpha Delta Pi. By joining a sorority, it gave a me a group of 80 plus girls that are just like me. They are slowly becoming my family away from home. I am very
