In the beginning of Happy’s golf career, he often gets frustrated and ends up cursing, breaking golf clubs, or punching other golfers. This is an example of how over arousal is not great when trying for your best performance. Happy has no filter, and loses focus easily, which does not work in a game that requires maximum focus. Along the way Happy has to deal with a heckling fan, who yells things before Happy is about to swing. This throws off the mentally weak Happy Gilmore.
Gene’s bitter attitude towards Blitzball reflects his envious personality. However, Finny exhibits a completely different attitude towards the sport which reflects his distinctive personality. Finny’s ability to create a popular game at Devon that he himself could not even win at demonstrates his charisma for fun and sports. Finny excitingly picks up a medicine ball saying, “ Now this, you see, is everything in the word you need for sports”( page 36). He then goes on openly explaining all the rules to Blitzball.
He would go into every match determined not to lose and would come out victor. He would lose the first match of his tournament because of the seed he was and because he was a rookie. “Someone had challenged their god, humiliated him” (42) Hassan points the slingshot towards Assef, and it is very significant. Assef is frightened, but more importantly, a Hazara is standing up for himself, not a Pashtun. 7. “I never slept the night before the tournament. I'd roll from side to side, make shadow animals on the wall, even sit on the balcony in the dark, a blanket wrapped around me.” (49) Amir’s insomnia is significant throughout the novel.
So his best chance at making it to state is by going up to 145. Throughout the book he tries to beat Al who wrestles 145, in challenge matches. He is never able to beat him. He treated Sam well and taught him the ropes when everyone else made fun of him as soon as he walked through the gym door. It showed me a lot about Tiny, and possibly that Tiny was Sam one day and was just retuning the favor. The authors writing style is very easy to follow and understanding, but at times he makes it intense when needed. He writes in a style that keeps you interested all times but does not leave you hanging or guessing. That is the strength of the book I think, not the simplicity but the way he makes you feel as though you are the writer.

Mr. Ross in “The Wave” taught his students that discipline and community were all you needed to have a strong group of people. Geoffrey Canada from Fist Stick Knife Gun thought that violence was the only answer as a child because that is all he ever knew. In both situations peoples thinking is influenced greatly by others around them.

This is reflected in hes actions as an adult because as an adult he had reversed the roles, he was now acting out as the molester. Gacy was labelled as sociopathic and according to Sam Duncan & Jack Lenz a socio path is ; breaking the rules and laws, takes advantage of other people for personal gain, feels little remorse or guilt, appears friendly and charming on the surface and is often intelligent.
