I worked every weekend and three days during the week. I also went to school for 8 hours a day, and 5 hours at work. If I wasn’t working or at school, I was sleeping. My girlfriend and I were in a crucial part of our relationship when I started working and it put a lot of stress on us. But, we learned to adjust and work through it.

“Bridge Builders seeks to develop among high school students a group of future leaders who can lay aside individual and cultural differences and work for the benefit of all.” This is the mission statement for Bridge Builders which is a program that I participated in my junior year of high school, and now actively involved with my senior year. The program, without a doubt, lives up to its mission statement. During the program we participated in leadership, personal, and team building activities. The program’s methods taught me how to be a great leader in any situation, whether I was leading myself or a group. I also made life-long friendships, and I am still meeting new people at our meetings that we have during the school year.
In the fall of 2010 I left BRCC with a degree in Liberal Arts and certificate in general studies. I am in my third semester at Southern and I am enjoying every minute and I could not be more proud of this institution despite what’s been said or what’s going on. After I receive my bachelors’ degree in Psychology and get certified in Health & Physical Education & Adapted Physical Education, I plan on getting my masters in Supervision and Administration. I chose teacher education program at Southern because of the quality teachers that have came through the SUBR teacher education program. I currently work with children with disability in the Zachary Community School System and love every minute because you get an opportunity to reach out to children who never really had chance and to be able to give them a chance is very rewarding.

It’s been a long time since I was in school and I am more focus then I was 10 years ago. It was vary nice getting to know you and I can't wait to get the show on the

I start attending Academy of Hospitality and Tourism a week after I move in the country, when I went to the school it was way different from my school back home I saw how the children behave in the class and how they talk to the
Field Experience/Observation I chose to observe at two local preschools. The reason for this was because I wanted to be able to compare and contrast their programs. It was a wonderful experience to see the differences in the different program. I picked a preschool that focuses on learning through play and the other school has a more academic focus. I was able to spend several hours at each school and entering each school took me back to being a child and brought back so many memories of the preschool I attended as a child.
Joe Thompson II February 2013 “Do not give away what so many have worked so hard for.” In their lives when most of them grew up they all had just one dream, to one day be successful and raise a family. Most people call this the American dream. Wake up, go to school, Cite the Pledge of Allegiance, Say a prayer, and have a nice well rounded learning experience every day in the classroom. After graduating from high school, marry the high school sweetheart, have two or more children, normally at least one boy and one girl in a perfect world but then again, what is normal anymore? Letting the mother stay home and raise the children and teach them morals and values carried on one generation after the next.
From then on when a writing assignment came up I would relate that topic to my life and twist events and experience to please my audience. I started writing A papers, and all this kept building and opportunities started to appear where I could use my way with words to get me where I needed to be. The beginning of my 8th grade year I decided I wanted to go to Alaska for the summer with our schools “Alaska Great Lakes Project,” which is a unique project that takes 70 8th graders to Alaska for a summer to climb mountains, go on boat explorations, and learn about the environment first hand for 4 weeks year after year, it was
