It may seem like a long time but it’s worth it in the long run. The things you learn are amazing and you would never expect to learn such things from a science class. You think that you know everything there is to know about biology so you take it as an easy class. Well in my own experience on going through the biology class and others similar throughout my schooling I have learned many things. Something that would be an example would be the plants unit and virus units.
As a junior in high school, I am approaching some very big life decisions fast. Now is the time in my life where I am expected to start narrowing down career choices and looking into the right schools that fit my choice. I have decided that working as an OBGYN is a major possibility because of my fascination in the medical field and the mentorship I am involved in at Augusta health. After looking into this career more this year, I have discovered so many accounting factors. The program enables selected students to go through clinical rotations in a nearby hospital in their junior year and grow as students both on a social level but also gain responsibility in a professional setting. I joined the Health Sciences Program from my interest in biology and other applied sciences. GI Lab was one of the many departments at the hospitals where they allowed high school students to experience the real setting of self governance in the medical field. The only drawback to the class was I was going to have to a lot of dissecting to do. Now, I know in Biology everyone had to dissect the traditional earthworms and frogs, which I can handle without any problems. The problem I encountered after I entered the Biology class was not the fact that I had to dissect worms and frogs, but I had to actually dissect a fetal pig. I was not looking forward to this part of the class; I was even considering transferring into the normal, calm Biology class every one of my sane friends had done, but it was too late to turn back now. I vividly remember my teacher passing out the syllabus of his course and talking in a very excited manner about the dissecting of the fetal pig.
