Your brain on music is all about, as Francis Crick said, connections.” What is music? Many of us have distinctive definitions of this complex term because it plays a unique role in each of our lives. Daniel J. Levitin, the author of This Is Your Brain on Music, looks at music from a neuropsychological perspective. Music is with me always, even though I don't make music myself. I can't clearly go back to when music became THAT important to me. For some musician’s their story is definitive of the style of music they play. This is usually the case with genre musicians like “rappers” and frequently country musicians. For these two specific groups there is a social connotation associated with the kind of music they played. The Future is in Men Books, television shows, movies, poems, and songs are resources that have the ability to provide such powerful messages, that one may begin to look at things differently.
