Multi-Cultural Society and Youth in Cambodia Cambodia is yet a developing country in Southeast Asian. A long decade of war had destroyed everything in this country and thus starting from a zero point after the war ended. The loss of human resources had blocked and discouraged this country from being develop. Most of intellectuals and young people were being killed during the so called Khmer Rouge Regime from 1975-1979 which led to the genocide period and more than 1.7 millions of the Cambodian being killed. After it’s brutality of Khmer Rouge regime, Cambodia still faced another civil war between different groups. The young Cambodian has again opportunities to study while the country still continued war between their own brothers and sisters, the Cambodians. Civil war in Cambodia did not end until a peaceful solution from foreign friends and especially the United Nations joint in hands found a peace agreement between different factors in this country in 1991 and led to the first general election in May 1993 with the supports from the United Nations. A new democracy government had formed and from this time marked a birth of national movement and civil society in this country. Many associations and local organizations had been formed to help the people who were really in need of helps from clothes, nutrition and national spirit. Youth movements were really a remarkable point of spot among other movements in this country. The sprit of national identity, human rights and dignity were the needs and were struggling and advocating by Cambodian youths. The challenges that Cambodian youth faced were huge. The helps from other countries have helped this country a lot. Youth in Cambodia have again enjoyed and gradually obtain what the so-called their rights and dignity as human beings. They really need to equip with more skills and knowledge. Everything
