In the early decades of the 20th century, bikes would have been the unique choice for transportation purposes if you had not wanted to go on foot or travel by horses and woody carts. Nevertheless, the new invention, which is considered a big step in transportation systems, is motorbikes making movements much faster. Although both of them are means of transport, bikes and motorbikes are wholly dissimilar in some aspects: speed, price, benefits. One obvious difference is the speed. Though bikes or motorbikes do not always move at the same speeds, it is not difficult for us to realize that the speed of a motorbike is faster than that of a bike about twice at least. In fact, a motorbike can reach the average speed of no less than 35 km/h, but a normal bike cannot faster than 20 km/h. Moreover, motorbikes can maintain their constant velocity all the time, whereas the speed of bikes is not stable. It is explained that motorbikes use diesel engines to move, while bikes mainly depend on muscular strength. The second difference is the price. There is no doubt at all that motorbike is much more expensive than bikes. Actually, during the past few years, we can buy a quite good bike with 100 dollars. However, a good motorbike costs you about 1000 dollars. It is perfectly true that the considerable strengths of bikes are of great benefit to environment and health which motorbikes lack. Motorbikes use internal
