Greetings, I bid to our honourable headmistress, Madam Mary John, to all of our knowledgeable teachers, and to all my fellow friends. As you all may know, during last week’s assembly, I was nominated as the best student in our school. Hence, today, as suggested by the school’s faculty members, I would like to share some pointers on how to become a successful student. Now, before I go in any further, with deep gratitude I say thanks to those who have given me this opportunity to share my scoop of insight in this matter. Napoleon Hill once stated that “The starting point of all achievement is desire”. So, the first step to becoming a successful student is to know or figure out what you want. You must know what your goals are before you could begin to persevere. The benefits of setting goals are to make it easier for you to make decisions, help you set your priorities, and acts as a guide for your journey to accomplishment. However, if that does not work for you, if you cannot figure out what you want out of life at the moment, then know that you can never get lost if you do not know where you are heading. You might end up as a doctor, an educator, or even a cleaner. What determines your future is what you choose to do with your present, not what you think wistfully about. All in all, effort matters. The next step is to be motivated and to stay motivated. Motivation is important to achieve success in one’s life. Through thick and thin, through joy and despair, motivation is what keeps us going. Likewise, to stay motivated, you must find the things that motivate you. As for me, my motivation is to live a wealthy lifestyle, to be able to pamper those I love, to be able to provide those I care for, those are some of my motivations to strive for success.
