English 101 9/26/12 Most important day of my life Covered in sweat and to exhausted to even lift my arms to finally hear the buzzer going off to declare me as the Southern Connecticut Conference wrestling champion at 160 lbs was undoubtedly the best moment in my life. As soon as I heard the timer I just felt such a heavy weight get lifted off of my shoulders. Winning this title was the most important day of my life for many reasons. One of these reasons is that knowing all the blood sweat and tears I put into the sport over the past 6 years was worth it. The second reason why this is the most important day of the life is that it showed my friends and family that I could effectively balance school and sports. The third reason why this was the most important day of my life is that recovering almost fully from a torn MCL and meniscus was just incredible. Therefore, winning this title was undoubtedly the most important day in my life for three main reasons. Over the past 6 years I have invested a large amount of my time and efforts into the sport of wrestling. From the end of fall until early spring, about 40 hours a week is consumed by wrestling. Weather it be weight room sessions, 5-mile runs, or the 12-hour long Saturday tournaments. To see all this agony pay off in the end with a trophy is one of the best feelings I believe I will ever experience in my lifetime. Winning the S.C.C. championship match was the best day of my life also because it proved to my friends and my family that not only can I excel on the wrestling mat but I could also do well and school. Our coach was very strict about school and grades. Each mid marking period my wrestling coach would ask for each wrestler to bring in their grades. He did not take any excuses for why a grade was what it was, whatever was on the paper he would go by. A’s and B’s were acceptable but anything lower than
