Cecile McMillian is Joss's 9yr old sister who is murdered by a vampire. Cecile haunts Joss's dreams asking him why he didn't help her when she was being attacked. Her death is the reason why Joss become the world's best vampire slayer. Malek is Joss's first slayer teacher. Malek trains Joss in learning how to track vampires and while Joss is training to stay awake for 3 days he falls asleep.
In the first half of the movie Suzie is lead into an underground den by neighbour George Harvey before being raped and killed. Suzie soon realises that she has not gone straight to Heaven, but has instead been pulled into what is known as ‘the in-between’, that is, neither Heaven nor Earth. Suzie remains in the in-between for a number of years where she is able to watch over her family and help lead them to her murderer. Though being told she is able to move on to Heaven and go to a better place, Suzie feels as though she still has things to do to help her family and friends on Earth before she does so. The journey concept of this movie is that sometimes, there are certain things that need to be taken care of before moving on.
The story is written in the perspective of ten year old Sarah Starzynski, and present day American journalist, Julia Jarmond. During 1942 in Paris, Sarah Starzynski was taken with her parents by the French police who were going door to door, to round up Jewish families. Sarah, who was desperate to protect her three year old brother, Michel, hides in him in their secret hiding place, and locks him up in a cupboard where she thought he would be safe. Still innocent, Sarah promises to come back for him as soon as they are released, but little did she know, she wasn’t coming back. Sixty years later, Sarah’s tragic story intertwines with that of middle aged reporter, Julia.
Errors in the Investigation of JonBenet Ramsey’s Death In the early morning hours of December 26, 1996 JonBenet Patricia Ramsey was murdered at her family’s home in Boulder, Colorado. At approximately 5:52am, her mother, Patsy, calls police declaring that her daughter had been kidnapped and that she had found a ransom note on the back staircase in the kitchen of the home. Police officers arrived at the home at 6:00am and conduct a search of the premises. JonBenet is not found at this time. The ransom note found by Patsy Ramsey is read and indicates that JonBenet’s father, John, and mother Patsy must pay $118,000 by 10 am the next morning to ensure JonBenet’s safe return.
Readers around the world have focused their attention to the most famous books like, the Harry Potter Series or maybe even The Davinci Code. Some do not realize that books that are not really conversed about are the most interesting. Harry Potter and The Davinci Code may be very entertaining books since one focuses on the supernatural and the other religion, but neither books talk about past, “deep” history. Two books that do go back to historical facts are Night and When the Emperor Was Divine. The New York Times has said that the novel, Night, was “A slim volume of terrifying power.” The Los Angeles Times has also said that, When the Emperor Was Divine, is, “a gentle, understated novel…has more power than any other I have read about this time.” Both reviews express that the two novels express some type of strong emotion that impacts the readers and also the reviewers.
Dead Letter By. Betsy Byars. This book was published by the Penguin Group in 1996 with 150 pages. The genre of this book is science fiction about a girl named Herculeah Jones and her best friend Meat finding a letter in the lining of coat. In the letter it stated that a woman was going to be killed in a house on Elm Street, and it was Herculeah’s mission to find who the woman was and why she was going to be killed.
In Goldsboro, North Carolina in 1990, there were three different crimes committed by an unknown attacker that was named the “Night Stalker”. In March an elderly woman was brutally raped and almost murdered, but her daughter came home early and the attacker fled the scene and left materials behind that would have been used to burn the house down in order to cover up the crime. In July, a second elderly woman was raped and murdered, and in October, a third woman was raped and stabbed to death and her husband was also murdered. The house was set on fire, but fire and rescue were able to get the bodies out before the house was totally destroyed. DNA analysis of the vaginal swabs from the three women who had been raped enabled the authorities
Even without seeing publicity material, the PG certificate and the choice of teen favourites Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder for lead roles evidently suggest that this is a film aimed at the teenage market. The casting of Vincent Price as the inventor is an allusion to the horror genre, a little joke which, unfortunately is appreciated by

She doubts the fact that the author of The Scarlet Letter purposely added symbolism to his novel, while her English teacher or “hair woman” as Melinda would call her is sure that he did. Like Hawthorne, Laurie Halse Anderson uses symbolism in the novel to bring Melinda's story to life. She also uses a lot of characterization through this symbolism, to add even further to her book.

The Book Thief, a novel by Markus Zusak, Liesel Meminger is a small girl in Nazi Germany. Liesel is sent into foster care, and finds comfort in the words of books she steals. In a drastic Turn of events, she ends up hiding a Jew, in her basement, who becomes her friend. In Markus Zusak’s The Book Thief, Liesel Meminger shows that stupidity can easily be mistaken for courage.
