Since many companies now require the employees to travel or be in constant reach, smartphones make managing information on the go much easier and they can do much more than the standard cell phone. It was not that long ago that we would see businessmen carrying, a cell phone, a palm pilot, and a pager and now thanks to technological advances the excessiveness is passé. Androids are used by many different manufacturers as the base operating system of their phones, while Apple is the sole provider of the iPhone. There are other distinctive factors to think of before buying either phone. Another characteristic to think of before buying either of these phone types is personalization. Both have different forms of personalization, iPhones for example have an abundance of case choices; there are waterproof cases that can be used while showering, cases that say “I’m a princess”, even customizable cases that customers can put pictures on.

Today with the birth of the Smartphone and its advanced computer-like technology on the go has made them a staple of society. It allows consumers vast opportunities at their fingertips and with just a simple swipe of a finger they can work, shop, play, surf the web and communicate with each other anywhere at anytime. Everyday there is a new way to improve life. It is as simple as downloading an app that uses GPS to help find lost individuals or an app to help with weight loss.

AT&T also has some weakness within the cellular communications industry. They have experienced complaints from consumers about problems with their wireless service and its reliability. Also, Verizon is trying to expand their Cable TV and home phone (Files), but many of the markets and territories are already taken by large companies (Time Warner, Cox, ATT Uverse, Comcast and more). Opportunities The wireless market is growing more and more worldwide, therefore, there are potential markets for the company to enter. Including not only local, but global, businesses, residential and government markets.
