The ghost’s >1800 brothers symbolize the town’s population. 3. The night before, Scrooge’s attitude was repulsive towards going on a trip to the past but now was eager to learn and profit from the chance to see the present situation. 4. The weather may be cold and gloomy but the spirit of the people during Christmas overcomes the climate with their cheerfulness and their bright happy hearts!
For me, Hubbing is very therapeutic and gives me something to do. I hate when you find a neat project or picture on Pinterest and click it to find out it's just a bogus/fake post with no description or instructions! Ugh! While I started Hubbing before I became obsessed with Pinterest, I kept Hubbing and sort of found my crafting and cooking niche because I was happy to share with anyone who was interested. A Christmas movie serves as a soundtrack while the tree is twinkling and sparkling in the background.
The descriptive language used in the second stanza assumes a certain brilliance when the poem reflects a positive tone when he says “the wide wide heavens!” He uses a sense of heightened colour when describing the nature surrounding him, e.g. “purple heath flowers!” Coleridge realises toward the end of the imaginative journey that nature is all around us for those who have the desire, passion and determination to search for it. Conversational tone is also conveyed in ‘Frost at Midnight’. Frost at Midnight is in an secluded cottage during the stillness of night. “The frost performs its secret ministry” at the start of the first stanza implies personification used to establish the stunning silence of nature and the frost falling outside.
She is connected to the chrysanthemums. “ You can feel how it is”(691). “They never make a mistake”( 691). “They’re with the plant”(691). He starts talking about the flowers and how beautiful they are, and this makes Elisa feel beautiful and valued.
The holly, jolly, red-clad elf is a common story often told to children during the holiday season. Though used with the thought of spreading an extra hint of joy to further help in the Christmas spirit, there are some points that even a child would find fault with. A man with an army of elves creates toys in the North Pole year-round, and then he delivers these toys all around the world in one night by riding in a sleigh drawn by eight flying reindeer and squeezing through chimneys. A cute story to tell around the Christmas tree, but a star-gazed child who spends his/her first few Christmases waiting for Santa (who kind of resembles Uncle Jim) will be immensely disappointed when they discover the true story. The child will eventually be told, or
Two Animations The aim (purpose) of the animation The aim of this animation is to present to people that you should have a very good Merry Christmas on that day and for the little kids who believe in Santa. This also shows that Santa would be coming to give people their Christmas presents especially children. It is very simple to get and children would enjoy the little animation, when all the words and design come up on the screen. The animation keeps the audience interested and happy that Christmas is soon to come and the presents they will get as well. This targets people who believe in Christmas and celebrate it.
And when it rains in the winter, we’ll just say the hell with goin’ to work, and we’ll build up a fire in the stove and set around it an’ listen to the rain comin’ down on the roof-Nuts!”(14, 15). This dream is brought up many times throughout the book because it is an important element in both of their lives. Each one of them knows that they have to work on all of the ranches so that they can earn enough money to afford the farm of their wildest dreams. This dream is very similar to the American dream. The American dream is to be free and not under anyone else’s rule.
Gonzalez 4 Elenie Gonzalez Prof. Colleen Finzel WRT 120-05 30 September 2013 El Dia De Los Reyes We’ve all heard of the Christmas holiday and what it’s about. Santa, the reindeer, the North Pole, toys, and elves; whenever you hear these words you think of Christmas time. But what if instead of Santa there were three kings? What if instead of reindeer there were camels and horses? Spanish speaking countries like Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Spain all celebrate a special day similar to Christmas called El Dia De Los Tres Reyes Magos.
I can’t even count how many times I’ve seen George Balanchine’s Nutcracker, but I can tell you it will never get old, and always be a tradition that I look forward to every year during Christmas time. Whether I am in a company performing it, or sitting in the crowd with my children I have some day, it will always be a tradition I appreciate fully. We all know what the ballet is about so I don’t really need to go over that, but I will go over a couple of my favorite moments in this particular show I attended. In the ‘candy cane dance’ Jermel Johnson performs his outstanding number with his fellow children candy canes, which I performed with him at
