An example would be medicine balls, or utensils that were modified for a patient. The team that will help the clinic succeed would consist of the physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, occupational therapists, occupational therapist assistants, administrative and clerical personal, and other support staff. While there, I spent extensive time with one of the therapists. She introduced me to lymphedema and how it is managed through manual therapy and compression garments. Spending time with her also reinforced how much I enjoyed splinting and orthosis. She even took the time to show me how to create a basic thumb spica splint and educate me on the different splinting materials commonly used in the field. This experience gave me the opportunity to gain more knowledge and insight into both the outpatient clinic and acute care hospital setting.
I then reviewed the research and work, as well as the business in a review/summary. BUSINESS PLAN This business plan proposes to open a Holistic Therapy Centre, providing a selection of complementary/holistic therapies to patients/clients. These treatments intend to treat the individual as a whole on all levels, mind, body and spirit as appose to conventional medicine. Complementary therapies also work alongside conventional medicine to ensure that clients/patients receive the best possible energy to bring the client to a place of vibrant well being. More people than ever are now using complementary and alternative therapy services, with approximately 76% of health care workers, including doctors and nurses using these services and approximately 63% of the general public, according to surveys conducted in 2011.
MEMO From: Joshua A. Burger (Gibbs), Phlebotomist, Genesys Regional Medical Center To: Office of Susan K. Unit 2 Assignment Cholesterol: A Patient Conversation Hi, my name is Rita Olivares, and I am a Physician’s Assistant. I meet with patients on a daily basis; I go over test results with them, along with any medication, lifestyle changes, or treatment options. I spend a lot of time with patients, I break down all of the medical terminology to the patients, and I go over their medication and steps that they need to take to become healthier. This also allows me to get to know a little bit about their lifestyle, which helps me when coming up with a plan for them. For the most part, I see patients that are older, and concerned about their heart health.
In the inpatient pharmacy. With that being said, communication is very important to our daily routines. Doctors fax, electronically submit orders for medications for the patients. There are many channels that are used for communication such as, email, walkie-talkie to the technicians inside the IV clean room, intercoms, telephones, pagers, laptops, IM chat program called Lync and interoffice mail system. All of which are used to improve our overall communication process as a pharmacy department and hospital.
I got to interact and learn about the job and learn the ropes. I learned that every patient had a different story behind why they were in physical therapy. Also every patient had a certain strengthen routine for the certain muscle they are weak in. While on my job shadow Mrs. Jen showed me the upside and downside of being a physical therapist. The fun part about being a physical therapist
Medical assistants must interact with people on a daily basis. Often their responsibilities include answering phones, scheduling appointments, greeting patients and relaying information from doctors to patients. They must also be able to deal with angry or stressed people, such as the chronically sick or those who have medical insurance trouble. Dealing with insurance issues or even the doctor's moods is also a useful ability. Since medical office assistants are constantly interacting with an ever-changing roster of patients, outgoing extroverts work best in this position.
Nurses as the change agents would incorporate a multidisciplinary team that includes the physicians, ANM’s, physical therapists (PT), the nursing assistant (NA), and dietary. Each member of this team will play an essential role in the patients’ enhanced recovery. By selecting the order set for ERAS, the physicians can anticipate an early discharge date for their patients, unless other medical problems prevent this. The ANM’s track the process of these patients, making sure the nurses documentation indicates their progress, i.e. their meal tolerance, their mobility, their pain control.
