Microsoft Reorganizes to Speed Innovation James Zieba Post University 20130717 Which of the following technology best characterizes the way Microsoft operates (a) craftswork, (b) engineering production or (c) intensive technology? I believe out of the three choices craftswork, engineering production, and intensive technology, engineering production, would be the top choice for me in order for Microsoft to reorganize their company. Seeing how Microsoft already knows what they have to do in order to keep up with the speed of innovation, Platform Products and Services, Business, and Entertainment & Services Jones, Gareth R. With engineering production the workers are held to a high standard to finding the solutions that are relatively easy because well understood standards procedures have already been established. (Jones, p. 252). Solving problems with technical formulas manuals and tables are identified by applying the right techniques. In order for Microsoft to solve these problems and keep their customers they have created a new level of hierarchy management that will work with small project teams in order to solve problems and invent new internet based service applications along with windows platform. (Jones, p. 270). Engineering Production involves the design, continuous improvement of integrated systems and control in order to provide their customers with high quality faster goods and services.
