It was full of drama and suspense (definitely more than what is offered in the text.) We then arrived upstairs and viewed some of the ancient Greek art and mainly the vessels. A few of the vessels were enormous; you wondered how the even carried them around. To see them up close was astonishing. The parallel lines used were perfect and I did not know this but the docent said that the image of the wheels was achieved by using a compass.
There is a vertical line across the blade so we can see the center line of it. The handle is mainly made by wood, which is painted in black. It is decorated with gold dots and a ring. The handle has a alabaster end, which is white and shiny. This dagger is named after the fact that it bears the name of King Ahmose (Ahmose I in this case) on it.
I saw many pieces of jewelry that were very large. There were also pictures and carvings of figures wearing large numbers of beads. The walls also contained paintings of servants serving kings. I saw this from many different countries. Statues were present of kings and queens.
His main materials are plastics, PVCs, acrylics and resins - materials which are normally associated with mass produced everyday throwaway items. Chang, however, treats his man-made plastics with the same respect as a jeweller working with conventional precious materials such as gold, silver and diamonds would. His bracelets and brooches can be striking, big and luminous or delicate, small and frail - but they are always recognisable due to the materials used, unusual shapes and extremely bright colours. Chang is also known for his innovation in including found objects into his jewellery designs. His jewellery can take several hundred working phases to create, and involves a very high level of craftmanship.
Nefertiti is one of the queens of anicent Egypt, and her appearence is very elegant and universially beautiful face. Some of the similaries of the two scupltures are both use a very realistic representation of their respective subject the human body and head. Also very proportional and both statues used stone as the main material for their masterpieces. There is also numerious differneces between the two culture's statues. One obvious difference is the Egyptian one used very colorful paint so the statue almost look like its alive with very natrual tones.
The Luxor Temple The Luxor Temple is a lesser temple to the temple of Karnak which is easily one of the biggest temples in the Valley of the Kings. These temples were shrines dedicated to the greatest of all the Pharaohs. Amon Ra or as some people simply call him the Sun God for that reason. These great temples are located in the famous Valley of the Kings and the Luxor temple is fairly large but is very small compared to the Karnak temple which is over 100,000 square feet! These temples were not only dedicated to Amon Ra and his family but they also had giant statues showing tribute to Ramses as well.
Tarim Basin Mummies The Tarim Basin mummies are a series of incredibly well preserved Bronze Age mummies which were discovered in the Tarim Basin region in the Xinjiang province of China, dating from 1800 BC to 200 AD. The mummies were found by explorers seeking antiquities. Today some of the mummies are exhibited in the museum of Xinjiang. The mummies are characterised by elongated bodies, angular faces, deep-set eyes, and other traditionally European features. Many of the corpses' hair is intact, and the colours range in colour from blonde and red to deep brown, it was typically long, curly and plaited.
At Mount Gabriel, Co. Cork, a wooden pick, shovel, stone mauls and tapers of resinous wood to provide light were among the equipment found in mines dated to the Early Bronze Age. During the Early Bronze Age the principal products were made from sheet gold, and include sundiscs made from a thin sheet of pure gold. The royal Egyptian art was mostly crafted in a two dimensional twisted perspective. delicate patterns and symbols were used all over the pallete, statues and scupltures. Every little details on the artworks have their own meanings such as the god and godess, the ancester of the pharaohs. Animals like bulls, lions and cats are widely used to symbolize sacred deities. The art were mostly preserved very well due to the materials used were meant to last.
The adornment of the mask is the wide band of gold painted on the forehead. His clothing is rich in color and texture. His caftan is a combination of red silk and wool with intricate gold designs, and his wool trousers are purple with geometric embroidery. His belt is yellow silk with a small hanging pouch that held aromatic substances. It is unknown if these substances were used to ward off evil spirits or for medicinal purposes.
