Quitting smoking is not impossible if smokers know and practice the correct methods. The first method to begin quitting smoking is called START which breaks into S for setting a quit date, T for telling your family and friends that you plan to quit, A for anticipating for the challenges you might face while quitting, R for removing cigarettes and other tobacco products from your home, work, car and lastly T for talking to your doctor about getting you help to quit smoking. The second method is called the taper method which is also known as the cutting down gradually method. Based on my experience, this is the most effective method to quit smoking. For instance, a smoker can cut down the number of cigarettes from 20 to 15 a day and gradually from 15 to 10. This method can be succeeded by delaying each cigarette smoked. If a person smokes cigarettes once every hour, he can reduce it to once every 1 and a half hours. With this method, a smoker will be able to cut down on his cigarettes smoking and eventually quit smoking all together. Lastly, the most famous method nowadays and yet the most controversial as well is the artificial cigarettes smoking. Artificial cigarette is an electronic device which the shape is exactly like a cigarette. An artificial cigarette contains solution that will be converted into mist when smoked. This solution comes in various flavours and some manufactures even include different doses of nicotine. This electronic device mimics smoking and helps reduce the urge to smoke the regular cigarettes and can eventually kick off the habit.
