Some Methods for Memorization Every day people tend to learn something new. But sometimes when there is a lot of information we are just not capable of memorizing it all. When I was in school I always wondered how the best pupils in my class memorized everything so fast and I was always jealous of them. But then I read an article in the magazine which was named “Methods for Memorization” where I found many interesting ideas. I narrowed them down to three the most important: making connections, visualizing and chanting. A lot of people say that making connections is the best way to learn something. Your brain will remember better if you connect new material to the old one. When I want to remember something, for example a name, I always associate it with someone I already know – a friend or a famous person. Or if you are memorizing a speech, start it with something easy for you to remember - a story or a favorite quote. Then structure the speech along a series of related mental connections. In my opinion, it is a great way to learn for everybody. Another way to remember things is visualization. You need to see the concept to memorize fast and remember more. Picture it! While you are learning new words or names always associate them with pictures. If you are memorizing a fact for a test, try to draw it in a chart or diagram or picture. You will be able to remember the diagram or picture better than a paragraph of explanation. When I tried to learn the events for my historical exam I drew a giant colorful diagram on my wall with all information I need and every day I was revising the material and to say the truth that helped me a lot. Try this technique and you’ll see how quickly you can memorize different things. Finally, the last but not the least important method is chanting. You may ask how is this going to help memorizing but don’t jump into conclusions so
