The Role of Women Women continue to be depicted on screen with negative stereotypes. They are misrepresented and underrepresented. One might argue that there has been a lot of changes made with the rise of action roles for women but these roles are extremely sexualized and the majority of female in such action characters are not images of empowerment; they do not draw upon their femininity as a source of power, and they are not operating outside the boundaries of traditional gender restrictions. Instead, they operate inside highly socially constructed gender norms, rely on the strength and guidance of a dominant male action character, and end up re-articulating gender stereotypes just like many other type of female roles, therefore, not much progress has been made. Along with being sexualized women are also portrayed as submissive, week, desperate, psychotic, emotional, or gentle and affectionate while men are aggressive, independent, ambitious and self-confident.
In the end, all argues are made by both sides turn out to be true in different aspects; neither side is absolute right or wrong. Not only women find it difficult to process a conversation with different gender, men sometimes encounter that problem also. Every problem has its own solutions, so does this separation; what these people are lacking of is the wider view of the whole picture, and the patience to analyze the validation of the communication they
Tannen’s writing is lengthy, personal, analytical and well sourced. Even though the differences between these two pieces can easily be highlighted there are some similarities. Both Tannen and Quindlen believe there are obvious differences and similarities between men and women. However, when specifically observing the relationship between men and women Tannen believes the main differences lie in communication, reactions, the way life is approached and the dynamics of childhood.
It could also be viewed as the plastic meaning suffocation and overpowering material goods that are not needed but somehow are the most important subjects to these women. These respectable women however in Duffy view are artificial and fake. They only talk about trivial subjects because, language embarrassed them. This could mean a literal language such as swearing or a subject which is rude or not talked of in high society. Or meanings that they are uneducated or cannot express themselves well and therefore find it hard to communicate with each other.
After a brief and passionate love affair with a woman named Lana, two jealous male acquaintances discover Brandon is anatomically female, and brutally rape and kill him for this “unnatural” behaviour (Pierce 1999). His brave performance of masculinity and his ability to remain faithful to his true identity contradicts Western society’s explicit gender norms. Although Western society equates sex to gender, through this intense rendition of Brandon’s life, viewers come to realize that gender is socially constructed, informed by cultural practice that is highly variable and far from universal (Brzuzy et al. 2012: 407). There is a deeper, more complex understanding of gender that can be recognized through the existence of supernumerary or third gendered individuals who transgress the gender binary and do not identify with the sex they were assigned at birth (Eyre and Pollack 2011: 212).
That being said, Shakespeare has given each character their fair share of attributes that are certainly repugnant, and therefore only making the above statement partially true. The men of the story are all characterised as the leaders of their society who dominate the women in their lives. They are bigoted and manipulative in their own ways; however they still manage to maintain calm and measured exteriors. A prime example of this type of male in 'Othello' is Iago. Iago, to everyone else, seems like an honest and good man who will do everything in his power to help those around him succeed, but is really just power-hungry, two-faced and manipulative.
The prime archetype symbol, Hawkeye, is utilized the most in illustrating these figures. Hawkeye’s views are complex, in the fact, that he reinforces interracial friendships among men, but objects to interracial aspirations among men and women. In addition, this presents the reader with Cooper’s conception of interracial relationships to be strenuous and condemned. Hawkeye represents the primary topic and conflict of the novel. However, he can also be illustrated through representative devices that not only enhance the readers understanding of him, but the novel’s overall issue.

Women being inferior to males, having their mouths covered, or being mistreated within an add is something that should be stopped or at least being acknowledged that it is a negative message toward women. The message be objectified within these advertisements doesn’t represent the women of present day. Women now a day have more freedom, rights, responsibilities, and are more independent and should be viewed that way instead of how they are actually viewed through advertisements. Third wave feminism is allowing objectification of women to break apart and in the follow years to disappear completely but until then it’s giving the
