In the world, there are few things as powerful as media itself. It's not a weapon necessarily, but it does have power that no machine, gun or anything else in the world has. Nothing like media has the same affect on people. Firstly, what is media? The dictionary states it is "the means of communication, as radio and television, newspapers, and magazines, that reach or influence people widely." It may seem as if it is simply another definition in the dictionary, however, to fully define and comprehend all of media's aspects and power, is much more complex. Regarding the power of media, it is something so powerful to the extent that concerns all over the world (especially in America in my opinion), have been raised over limits, restrictions and boundaries over media. This is because media has the unique ability to essentially influence people's opinions on practically everything. Societies, cultures, politics, food, and people, are a only a few examples over the many topics or issues that media is able to influence people's opinions on. Moreover, an opinion itself (or multiple opinions) leads to actions or behaviors of people, so if media has control or influence over people's opinions then essentially media has control or influence over people's actions. Furthermore, opinions also shape and define a person's character and personality. When taking into account what media is capable of, the suggestions and questions concerning restrictions on media are obviously very understandable. First and foremost, should there be restrictions on the power media? Should there be extra restrictions on the events and individuals that the media is allowed to report on? In my opinion, the question and possibility of restrictions on media is a very difficult decision. Media, despite some of its detrimental affects on society, is an important part of the society and culture we live
