McDonald’s, The World Largest Fast Food Chain McDonald’s was founded on May 15, 1940, in San Bernardino, California. The McDonald’s restaurant concept originated from two brothers named Dick and Mac McDonald. Today the McDonald’s Corporation is ranking the number 1 largest fast food chain restaurant in the world, serving approximately 47 million customers a day. The main product is hamburgers; however their menu also includes various chicken sandwiches, french fries, deserts, salads, soft drinks and breakfast items. McDonald’s Corporation has expanded their food service industry worldwide operations through subsidiaries and franchisees. All restaurants offer a variety of food items as well as coffee, soft drink products and other beverages. According to the latest report in December 31, 2008 the corporation operated 31,967 restaurants in 118 countries of which 25,465 were operated by franchisees; and 6,502 were operated by the Mc Donald’s Corporation with approximately 400,000 employees and revenue of $22.79 billion dollars. This Corporation was founded in 1948 and is based in Oak Brook, Illinois. Today there are five key essential executives that oversee the successful operation of this worldwide industry.
