National, State and Other Standards Document Cynthia Ellis Liberty University National Standards for Math for Grades K, 1 and 2 Kindergarten Mathematical Processes The mathematical processes provide the framework for teaching, learning, and assessing in mathematics at all grade levels. Instructional programs should be built around these processes. The indicators for this standard, which are appropriate for kindergarten through grade two, are adapted from Principles and Standards for School Mathematics (NCTM, 2000). Classroom application should be based on the standard and its indicators; the mathematical goals for the class, and the skills, needs, and understandings of the particular students. Standard K-1: The student will have a basic understanding of the mathematical processes of problem solving, reasoning and proof, communication, connections, and representation.

AP WORLD HISTORY Mr. Salz 2013-14 Our Advanced Placement World History course will cover history throughout six chronological periods elaborated in the syllabus. Nevertheless, we will endeavor to integrate all time periods through comparisons and continuities and changes over time. While it will be necessary to learn a vast array of facts, we will be learning those facts as a basis for critical thinking. We will use the historical thinking skills or habits of mind to break down nineteen Key Concepts from the College Board. Our extensive use of primary and secondary sources will largely involve only short excerpts, in order to allow us to compare point of view and carry on thorough document analysis.

Below are five broad writing topics. Select two of them and write one narrow topic for each. Use any of the techniques described in this chapter. * Studying for exams * What is a good strategy for studying for exams? * Technology * What people are capable of doing to have the most updated technology?
Annotated Bibliography Entry 1: Pedagogical Knowledge Beswick, K., Brady, K., Clark, J., Faragher, R., Sieman, D., Warren, E. (2013). Teaching Mathematics, foundations to middle years. Victoria, Australia: Oxford University Press. This text considers the theoretical underpinnings of mathematic learning and links to these ideas throughout. There are colour coded information boxes, of which the most useful I found to be: the practical tips to help prepare students for learning and deepen their knowledge during learning; and the issues that can arise in teaching which deals with things such as making you aware of and avoiding potential problems and giving insights as to what misconceptions the student may have, and areas in which they may struggle, why, and strategies to overcome these; and links and ideas to integrate technology with content areas, with web links provided where relevant.

Below are the five steps of SQ3R study strategy: Survey: Before reading the chapter, review everything in the chapter, such as the title, headings, subheadings, and charts. Students must make note of the main ideas that are presented to recall prior knowledge that they might have about the topic and have what they will read easy to access. Question: Students must question while surveying the chapter. Students turn each heading into a question before reading. Students must ask themselves, “What did my instructor say about this chapter or subject when it was assigned?” and “What do I already know about this subject?” Reading in order to find the answer gives students a purpose for reading.
Polygonal Numbers Table of Contents Introduction Pg.3-4 Formulas for finding the nth polygonal number 5-25 Formulas for finding the nth sum of polygonal numbers27-30 Formulas for finding the relationship between polygonal numbers 31-36 Appendix Pg.37-38 Conclusion Pg.39-40 Introduction I was in math class when my brilliant math teacher had out a worksheet on triangular numbers. I was presented with the diagram on triangular numbers. N represented the number of dots on one side and Tn represented the total number of dots in a triangular array. Below is a chart that represents the question. My goal was to figure out the 5th, 6th, 7th number and so on and to come up with a formula in finding the nth triangular number.
