I will be define and describing Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs. The needs are Physical, Safety and Protection, Belongings, Self-Esteem, and Self Actualization.   To describe them, here they are:
Physical needs:   The most basic level humans need to survive, and communications help us meet these needs. For example: Babies communicate with us by crying or alerting us when their in pain or hungry. We do the same thing. We let people know were hungry-mostly mother or father. We ask them for food. That’s communication.
Safety needs: Communication comes in to play in this step. You need communication for your safety. For example: if our house has ants or bed bugs, even a leaky roof, we call someone or let the owner know so we can have a safer place to live.
Belonging needs: All of us need each others in order to enjoy life, to feel comfortable at work, and to fit into social groups. For example: when middle school kids finally start high school they usually start alone or with a friend, they want to fit in with other groups to make their selves more comfortable. They want to feel accepted or have acceptance and they want to give their acceptance.
Self-Esteem needs: This involves valuing and respecting ourselves and being valued and respected by others. Example: Family members communicate their perceptions, and children begin to form images of themselves.
Self-actualization needs:   as fully developing and using our unique “talents, capacities, potentialities.   Example: Kids growing up through high school sometimes communicate with others through talents and potentialities. If you find something in common you show them what you know or your talent and how you do it.
Belonging needs and self-esteem needs applies to me because I have a hard time fitting in and my self-esteem is dangerously low. I have to go to hospital for depression.
