People who experience life’s struggles would know how difficult it can be to face the reality of life standing alone. Our relationships with friends and family are crucial to our growth and without the support of loved ones; the transitional phase we must surpass can be difficult.
People will often ask what makes a good or long lasting relationship. In truth there is no one answer, what works for some will not work for others, it’s about finding the balance that suits the both people. At the beginning of a new relationship, the excitement of being in that relationship helps us to not see the things the other person does which may cause annoyance. At this stage in the relationship both parties find themselves faced with everyday realities which means they have to work at the relationship to find and maintain a balance. When couples are faced with life changing events or illnesses the balance changes quickly and they will find themselves in the difficult position of facing their own feelings and fears while trying to support each other.

The most common challenges faced by managers are when the recovery target for the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) differs from that of the client. When the clients completes the Occupational performance measure after they are admitted it always shows that they identify as contributing to their recovery and what the CMHT states that they should work towards often differ. Working with people for long periods gives room for relationships and repore to be established. In a business setting between employees and clients this can cause moral and ethical issues to arise. As an employee of a substance abuse treatment center, it is encouraged that staff build a repore as well as a relationship with clients, but the relationship is to be stopped when a client graduates the program and is discharged. This causes a moral dilemma in decisions that can be life-changing for both the client and the employee.
