Understanding the role of communications in an organisation: 1.1: Explain the communication processes used within my organisation (Lafarge): Communication process is the process of sending data from one source to another intentionally with a meaning perceived by the receiver. If a company wants to survive in the industry then communication plays a vital role. Without proper communication no work can be completed successfully within an organisation. It is simply passing information from one to another. There are six basic elements of communication process which are sender (encoder), message, channel, receiver (decoder), noise, and feedback. Lafarge uses a modern communication process where Information & Communications Technology (ICT) is vital. Lafarge controls and monitor their every aspect of their operation by using ICT, which includes stock, distribution, payroll, communication methods, and so on 1.2: Analyse the purpose of communication process used within Lafarge: In Lafarge communication helps to achieve its aims and objectives. Although it doesn’t help to achieve all of the aims and objective still help to achieve their main aims and objectives such as To make profit To expand To provide good services to the customers To provides jobs Lafarge advertise their product thorough brochures, Internet, sponsorship and media to inform people about their products. Lafarge spends lots of money to advertise their products and make sure that it reaches their customers. This will attract more customers and enables Lafarge to make a profit. Lafarge advertises vacancies thorough Internet and newspaper to find the right person for the job to provide good services to the customers.
