DON''T Plagirize, It's on the MBAH List Nothing But the Truth and The Man Without a Face both show examples of miscommunication. Miscommunication is a key issue in both. Between the two there are similarities. They also have some differences. The main similarities are judging and rumors. In both stories many rumors are started. People are also judged improperly in both the movie and book. There are similarities, such as rumors and judgment, as well as differences in both Nothing But the Truth and The Man Without A Face in how miscommunication is shown. Rumors appear in both The Man without A Face and Nothing But the Truth. One example is in The Man Without A Face everyone believes Mr. McLeod is a freak and is violent. They believe these things because of rumors they hear. None of the things they hear are true because none of them have actually spoken to him. The newspaper starts a rumor in Nothing But the Truth. Almost none of the things they wrote were true. “While it may appear as an April Fools’ Day joke, tenth grader Phillip Malloy of Harrison High School was suspended for singing “The Star-Spangled Banner.” First of all, he is a tenth grader. Second, he wasn’t suspended for singing The Star-Spangled Banner. He was suspended for being disruptive and talking when he was supposed to be silent. Another example is when Charles tells his friends that Mr. McLeod was in a car accident where a little boy was accidently killed. His friends took this information the wrong way. They started the rumor that “the freak” killed the kid. When Phillip Malloy tells Mr. Griffen about the incident, In Nothing But the Truth, he makes the rumor grow even larger. “I am shocked that a Harrison student should be suspended from one of our schools because he desires to sing the national anthem” Rumors led to miscommunication several times in both The Man Without A Face and Nothing
