I have managed to learn nothing at all After the tragic death of Kate Morrison’s parents in the novel Crow Lake by Mary Lawson, she lives with her siblings where her older brothers take charge of the family. Her oldest brother Luke tries to find jobs and sacrifices his own education to support the family. During the time when he works in McLean’s family store, he and their daughter Sally develop affection towards each other. Consequently, Sally tries to seduce Luke to have sex with her; however Luke rejects the offer for the sake of their family. Similar story happens to Kate’s other brother, Matt, but the way they handle are the opposite.
The boy is feeling compassion toward Ely. The feeling the boy has toward Ely is helping the father feel maybe some compassion for him too. He doesn’t trust anyone but the way his son is acting with the old man seems to be changing the way the father feels. The boy also encounters the feeling of being scared. He doesn’t want to be into danger or have his father in danger.
The men who view him this way are totally different from each other. For example, George plays the role of the family member to Lennie, which at times makes him act cruel towards Lennie. At first, Crooks views Lennie as just another one of the workers who treats him badly then later realizes he is a nice and caring man. Curley on the other hand strongly dislikes big men and being that Lennie is a big guy, Curley never gives Lennie a chance to be friends. Lennie is viewed by s few characters in the novel and it affects their characterization.
Adam has finally has his father and son moment with one of his children that he is grateful to express himself to his son Cal. By saying he trusts Cal he has gain even more love and forgiveness for not being with his children for many years. Plus, Adam is able to not be like his father but instead be the opposite with just one of his children. Cal – “He though sardonically of telling him about his mother, to see how he would handle I, but he withdrew the though quickly. He didn’t think Aron could handle it at all,” (Steinbeck 586).

The interview with John Leo was eye opening. His rough childhood and difficult times as an adult did not influence him poorly. He recalls his grandfather as a strong loving man, who made a huge impact on his life. After the loss of his grandfather, his mother abandoned him. Though Leo distrusts women he eventually found love.
Amir frequently doesn’t succeed to live up to Babas values. The failure relies on Babas disregard of love towards his own son.
