Well you might think they are exactly the same, a male and female can do the same things. Although now a day man and women are equal and they can do everything they want, it wasn´t like this in the past. They were so different that they had different rights. Even today you can find jobs that are dominate by the man. You can find examples of the roles of men and women in Harper Lee´s novel To Kill a Mockingbird, this novel takes place in the 30s and the role of men and women were very different. In the novel you can read that the women only stay at home, they were in charge to take care of the kids and have the house clean. If they were rich, they don´t even have to care about that. While you are reading you can find out that the only job women had out of the house, was been a teacher. In man was so much different, they were in charge to bring money to the house. In fact what is on the book about the roles is true. On that time the work of the woman just to take care of the house and kids. If they were rich not even that, they just care about looking very elegant and gossip with their friends and neighbors. If women want to work, the only work they could find was of a teacher. For men it was so much different, they could work on whatever they want. They could lawyers, doctors, teachers, dedicate to religion, etc. It was an enormous difference between one and another. The difference was so big, that they don’t have the same rights. On the past women can’t vote, the only ones that could vote were men. For me, this is one of the most stupid things I had heard in my life. I mean, why they shouldn’t vote? They have the same right as men because both are human beings.
