Another way to put this is by learning about the argyle communication cycle, The argyle communication cycle has six steps: 1.Idea occurs (so you might want to talk to a resident about their care plan). 2.The message is coded (which basically means how you are going to send the message across, so if a resident is of certain age you need to think about the speed, Tone and pitch and how you speak to them you also should think about how you are going to deliver it). 3.Message sent. 4.Message is received (the resident knows that you are communicating with them and receives the message).
Therefore, if the ethical code is followed by healthcare professionals, patient and/or family members can develop confidence in their standard of care. Representation of ethical code by healthcare professionals develops patient/family confidence and provides a positive community identity. How does the organization reflect ownership and practice of ethical standards? When ethical code is written well for interpretation, employees can better apply and practice. More importantly, the organization should provide training sessions to employees to enhance their comprehension of the ethical code and values within the entity.
The counselor then identifies any ethical or substance abuse concerns and uses educational comments, empowerment/support statements, and reframes as therapeutic interactions with the client. Finally, the counselor identifies the client’s current coping strategies and presents possible coping alternatives such as support groups, long-term therapy, legal referrals or referrals to other medical professionals or agencies. It is important that the counselor take steps to get a client’s commitment to follow-through with recommendations. Some may consider the six-step model a more straightforward and efficient intervention model designed to work as an integrated problem-solving process (James, 2008). All six steps involve an ongoing assessment, which is also a critical component of crisis intervention.

What is Communication? Communication is the way in which we choose to speak to people, whether this is verbal or non-verbal. According to Higgins (2010: 4) communication is, ‘the exchange of information between people and becomes effective when the information is received and understood’. People communicate for different reasons such as, to gain understanding and knowledge, to learn, to survive, to socialise with others, to give opinions, to show emotions, to work together as a team, to understand etcetera.
Along with all of the above the Human Recourses must be aware of everyone’s task and be able to jump in if they need to. They need to run audits to make sure all task are being done properly and insure everything is be done legally. Human Resources must always have a plan of action to insure everything is properly done and legally done. It is very important to both the licensed staff and the patients that the human resource department follows through with every concern immediately.
Healthcare professionals must be able to learn from everything that happens in the healthcare setting so as to continuously improve their competency and efficiency in responding to various patient situations. One way of achieving this is to use a reflective model, for example Gibbs’ model (1998). Gibbs’ model presents questions that the reflective professional needs to answer to enable them to learn from an experience, for example that they have had in the past. Gibbs’ model is easy to utilize and apply so that experiences are regularly reflected upon. This model is cyclical and consists of six main stages.
It can be a conversation in which two people both enjoy the conversation and learn something. Effective communication in the health and social care setting is very important as it allows the health care worker to perform their role effectively, allowing them to work alongside their colleagues whilst developing supportive ties with the users of the service who come from different types of backgrounds, cultures/ and religion.
