In contrast to Cindy’s new found self esteem, her mother seemed to uphold a strong lack of confidence in her daughter and in herself as well. By the same token, in the second article “The Thrill of Victory … The Agony of Parents”, the author presents the opposition through her mother. Jennifer Schwind’s mother appeared as an embarrassment to her publicly and emotionally. “In a voice so screeching that it rivaled fingernails on a blackboard, she told him that he was a disgraceful coach and that he should be ashamed of himself” (Pawlak 3). While in her mother’s eyes, she only supported her daughter and craved the absolute best for her child.
Section 3 Summaries Chapter 24) Minny worries that her friend Aibileen will get in trouble for faking the recommendation to Miss Celia so that she could get a job. Miss Celia does not care though, she values and supports Minny tremendously and would never fire her because of Hilly. In this chapter it is clear that Leroy is physically abusing Minny again, she is however too ashamed to tell anyone about it or ask for help. Celia notices that cuts and offers to call the police but Minny tells her not to worry about it because she doesn’t want anyone to know about it. She tries to hide her pain from Celia and Aibileen so that they do not worry about her.
This book is about a girl named Maleeka. She is bullied because of her very dark skin. Maleeka soon becomes ashamed of her own self. She is also teased about the clothes her mom makes for her, since her father died and they now are poor. So Maleeka turns to Charlese Jones, a girl who you don't mess with and who always wants to be in control.
Also I find it ironic that it isn’t until after she is fully diagnosed that her family wants to send her away for an education to a special school. It is almost as if saying now that she has a label we must label her and send her away where they can help her. I can’t help but wonder if her own family could have helped her just the same, especially since they had already been doing so. One could pick out many other instances of irony in this story; however I don’t want to give everything away. This was a wonderfully performed and put together work, one that definitely needed to be relived and who better then our very own
Next, she is in denial she still believes that john proctor still loves her that he still cares for her. She says this in a creepy tone, “You loved me John Proctor, and whatever sin it, you love me yet” (146). Her morals are all confused not caring for the sins that she has committed is the exact opposite of hoe they raised their children something is just wrong. Lastly, she is willing to kill anybody who stands between her especially Goody Proctor, John Proctors wife; also the other girls that she leads in a messed up cult. She says this as if she were the reaper herself, “let either of you breathe a word, or an edge of a word, about the other things and I will come to you in the black of some terrible night and pierce you” (144).

Cassie has been trying to locate her, but had no luck. She also goes around with a lot of men; she really puts herself out there in the wrong ways. Aunt Cassie faces a huge challenge, when she is trying to let go of her past, let go MIA (her daughter), to move on. She tried to find MIA but didn’t succeed, so she finally just let her go. She did it for herself, not only because it is good for her well-being, might she have another baby on the way (as hints were thrown in the book).
A repressed women with a desire to be free and happy. The relation between when the woman in the wallpaper and the narrator when the woman is behind bars symbolizes the narrator and how she is trapped in this tiny room with a husband who controls her every word and actions. He undermines her in almost every way. For example the narrator says on page 590 “I am afraid, but i don't care- there is something strange about that house-I can feel it, I even said so to John one moonlight evening, but he said what i felt was a drought, and shut the window.” This shows how john undermines her fears as just a simple shiver from the window being open when she is trying to explain how she doesn't like the place because shes
I think Ismene changed her mid because Antigone is her sister and you always stand up for family. She didn’t want to commit the crime because she was trying to talk Antigone out of doing the crime. In the end Ismene is the only one who lives and has a kind of guilt free life. She may not have family left besides Creon but at least she tried to save them. I think out all the characters she made the smarter choices and she thought about the consequences.
We can see that she feels guilty because she had already promised Maggie the quilt but as she feels that Dee is superior than her she also wants her to keep just to probably not having an argument with her.We Her word choice gave me the image that she might even be a little scared of her daughters Dee knowledge. While with Maggie she seems to feel equal and probably favors her in the way that she knows that she won’t let her heritage down but most importantly she would very feel embarrassed of where she came from. As dee showed whenever she was younger and would never take friends over. If it was written in any other point of view we wouldn’t be able to sense all the emotional feelings that the narrator is able to transmit by writing in first person. It would be only as if they were trying to explain what another is feeling.
