Section 3 Summaries Chapter 24) Minny worries that her friend Aibileen will get in trouble for faking the recommendation to Miss Celia so that she could get a job. Miss Celia does not care though, she values and supports Minny tremendously and would never fire her because of Hilly. In this chapter it is clear that Leroy is physically abusing Minny again, she is however too ashamed to tell anyone about it or ask for help. Celia notices that cuts and offers to call the police but Minny tells her not to worry about it because she doesn’t want anyone to know about it. She experienced public humiliation within the company from her picture being openly displayed; which by the way puts her supervisor in the position to be held liable for allowing such behavior to take place. Andy & Harry’s Case To start with, Andy was making loud and insulting remarks towards Harry which basically started all this. In reality, you have to touch someone to get charged with assault, if you put someone through some sort of fear, this is known as assault which Andy might get charged for. However, the court is going to analyse what Andy has against homosexual people as he was going against Harry and his boyfriend. An example of someone getting assaulted without getting touched is Ireland (1997) when a man kept ringing a woman’s house on a daily basis. The woman was scared, paranoid and she later became depressed.

Rayona hates it more than anything that when she goes anywhere, people poke fun at her and make racial remarks to her which makes her feel insecure about herself. Not only does Rayona have to deal with racism her mother is always putting her in bad situations. One time in the very beginning of the story Elgin goes to visit Christine in the hospital, Rayona had not seen him in 5 months and Christine did not want to tell him about her sickness.
