Pyle’s perception is that he is confident Phuong will go for him but in reality she picks Fowler. Fowler has a constant fear of losing love as he perception has lead him to leave established relationships in the past. He is appealed by Phuong as she gives him the sense of security, the feeling “she won’t run away from home so long as the home is happy (pg 104).” Pyle perceives that he has to suffer a lot in giving up Phoung. “I know what I’d have to suffer if I had to give up Phuong” said Pyle which shows that the truth often becomes a matter of perception rather than reality to Pyle as he thinks she will chose him rather than Fowler. Another example is shown in the book “The Secret River” by Kate Grenville where the Australians declared Australia as “Terra Nullius” meaning empty land
Being able to love is something you have to have within yourself. The three dimensions of passion, intimacy and commitment will continually take great work to continue a growing relationship; it is not a given in yourself or with whom you chose to love. Many miss the opportunity to experience such a love because they fail to realize it takes work. You can have the passion in the relationship; which is more the desire to want to be with that person, and you can have the intimacy of the relationship; which is the feelings of being close to someone, but if you do not have the commitment in the relationship then there is no foundation to build on. The commitment is where the two of you made a decision to love one another and maintain that relationship.
People will often ask what makes a good or long lasting relationship. In truth there is no one answer, what works for some will not work for others, it’s about finding the balance that suits the both people. At the beginning of a new relationship, the excitement of being in that relationship helps us to not see the things the other person does which may cause annoyance. At this stage in the relationship both parties find themselves faced with everyday realities which means they have to work at the relationship to find and maintain a balance. When couples are faced with life changing events or illnesses the balance changes quickly and they will find themselves in the difficult position of facing their own feelings and fears while trying to support each other.
I think he didn’t let go because he still could see the hope in her eyes and hear the hope in her voice that she thought he would get better.. Even thou they want to go they still don’t want their love ones to suffer. We never want to let go of our love ones because it hurts. We have to do what is best for them and not us. We have to realize that they are the ones in pain and that they are just prolonging what they know is going to happen.
The way he didn’t give up when he did not have to positive encouragement from his community is another reason why this piece stood out to me. It told me that even though that everyone will not be on the same page as you but you should not give up because you are making it count to not only you but someone else that may look up to you. Like when he goes to tell wife Michelle that he wants to quit she tells him that this project will be the most important thing they will ever do. She says that she understands that it will be hard and there will be a lot of sacrifices but she is willing to find out together. By his wife standing by his side willing to change all her ways made me believe that there is always someone there with you even if you don’t know
BIlly Bill English-2 Only certain people would do the same as Brutus in Julius Caesar. If one feels truly passionate for an idea or cause, one would do just about anything to preserve the possibility of fulfilling that cause. Although, one’s loyalty to something will often cause them to do something desperate and sometimes even illegal to alter the end result. When an individual does something like this they often consider that the end result might not be agreed upon now, but is ultimately for the greater good. Many people rationalize that if the end justifies the means that is okay to do something.
Janie’s Undying Quest for Love All human hearts, at their core, desire love. What this love comes to mean can differ from person to person. How one is brought up can greatly influence their view on what true love is and, for some, leave them without happiness. In Zora Neale Hurston’s Their Eyes Were Watching God, Janie finds true love only when she lets go of what society is telling her to do. Although her Grandmother taught her that love is settling with a wealthy man, Janie does not give up on her vision of love.
Lewis’s character however shifts his opinion through his experience with the patients and how they relate to the themes of the opera, Lewis gradually conceives of love something that underlies all else. “ Without love the world wouldn’t mean much”. His tone is thoughtful and wise , suggesting a grand gesture but in fact a simple truth. Through lewis journey he has come to the realisation of the importance of love and fidelity, the things he used to consider to be ‘traditional values’. “Its about important things, love and
If we live our lives without faith they would be extremely lonely and unfulfilling, aspects of faith are all around us. We can specifically use it in our present mindsets, love and future. In order to be confident in the decisions you make you would have to know all the possible out comes of a situation and have everything perfect. The problem is we are not all knowing nor anywhere near perfect, but through faith we can trust those around us to help when mistakes are made. In keeping a faithfully open mindset relationships are built, you may even feel love.
If a person continues to deny what God has for them, then their lives will not be happy. “When we take things into our own hands, we have the feeling of being in control. But what or whom do we really control.” (Anderson, 2003, p. 281) There is one problem with someone who is rebellious. They will not want to hear any truths or be shown anything in their lives that they may need to work on. They may think that they are happy and that their lives are going along well, but they will soon find out that they are wrong.
