Love for My Sister Have you ever had someone in your life help you figure out who you were? Someone who is the kind of person who shows you the right path to take and remains by your side no matter what the outcome may be? Or even just a friend who always seems right but never teases when you are not. If I didn’t have this person in my life, I would not be who I am now. Her name is Melissa Fuquay and she is my older sister. Melissa is more than just a sister or mentor, she is also my best friend. I say she is my mentor and best friend for so many reasons. For starters, I learned from watching her deal with people that being nice never fails. She has also taught me to deal with situations presented in my life and to always give everything you had to give and never quit. I can always depend on her to be there for me with the right words of advice and help to guide me in my choices. My mistakes are for me to make, but she is always right there to steer me back once I have realized my faults. I know for a fact that my life and my attitude toward life would be different if I didn’t have Melissa to look up to. There have been so many times in life when I would have been completely lost without her kind words and soft voice there to soothe and guide me. My sister and I have always been confused as being twins although we are seven years apart. Since we look so much alike, people always ask us “Are you girls twins?”. We always just look at each other and know exactly what each other is thinking. We would burst into a giggle fit until we had tears rolling down our faces and our sides would hurt. I just politely reply, “no, we are seven years apart, but we get that a lot”. Missy, as I have called her since I was two, is about two inches taller than me putting her at 5’3.
