What factors are involved in living a long and healthy life? It is difficult to concept ‘long and healthy life’, because the description is broad, if so the concept for me can be different to you, but in general is necessary meet one point of balance and this point is obtained with factors that bring the physical, mental, social and spiritual welfare. So, what are this factors? Firstly, I will talk about some healthy habits of life that are known and enough to influence to have a long and healthy life; which are, have a regular healthy diet, for example, avoid foods that haves high rates of calories like industrialized foods and fried food in general. And eat more foods rich in proteins and vitamins, among others; like vegetables and fruits. In addition, make daily physical exercises like cycling and walking, or attend a gym bring many benefits, and it do not need be extreme. It is difficult nowadays, but is healthy. Secondly, the healthy environment and people around too contribute to long and healthy life, like workplace and professional realization, for example, one of the things that most is stressful is the work; then feel comfortable at work, doing what you do like is advantageous to the quality of life. Moreover, the leisure also is important because promotes relaxation and well-being. Also, have a noble relation with other people or/and family is good for social interaction, contributing to social and mental welfare. Thirdly, recent studies have revealed that group of people who lived to be 100 years or more were healthier at younger ages than their peers. Furthermore, specific findings support the idea that genes contribute to exceptional survival, in other words the long life that runs in families is directly related with genes.
