Source 2 also suggest that Charles ‘proceeded even when a policy was arousing great opposition’ which also agrees with Source 1 that suggests that Charles ‘saw no need to explain his action’ therefore suggesting that Chares lacked political judgement as he was very inflexible which many people around him found difficult to work with, ‘unworkable’ which led to a problem. Source 1 strongly emphasises that Charles’ elder brother James was ‘accomplished’ whereas Charles was ‘weak’; alternatively source 2 does not mention anything about James. Source 1 suggests that the reason for Charles’ poor communication skills may have been due to the fact that Charles was not brought up to be a ruler, James was. This therefore suggests that the reason Charles ‘failed to understand viewpoints’ may have been due to this fact which again proved to be a major problem in Charles’ personality. Source 1 also strongly emphasises the fact that Charles was ‘short’ and had a ‘stammer’ whereas Source 2 shows no knowledge of this.
Learning from mistakes is simple. The characters in the book just choose not to learn. Only one character chooses to stay safe and avoid conflict - Randy. Randy is wise to say, "I'm sick of it because it doesn't do any good" (117). One can avoid conflict by stating their mind - by just not joining in the event one thinks is trouble.
This can be overcome by speaking to them in a plain and simple speech and a calm and collected tone and using non verbal communication methods. 3.2 Identify barriers to effective communication. Barriers to effective communication could be: - Not understanding or being aware of a persons needs, wishes , beliefs and culture. Such as not understanding/misunderstanding an individuals words such as their slang words – that’s ‘sick’, understanding that it means something bad but due to their culture it means really good. - Not ensuring communication aids, such as hearing aids, are available, switched on or working.
I didn’t want to be called a do-gooder. I didn’t want to be snubbed” (43). Pentecost demonstrates loosing courage by not doing what’s right because he didn’t help his teacher who was clearly powerless without defense. Pentecost explains how he chose not to defend his teacher because his fear of being called a do-gooder seemed too big of a consequence. In order to call someone courageous, the definition should be known.
Nothing could ever make up for all the bad things Sonny does but at least he does somewhat realize the bad things he does. If he did not realize his bad deeds, he wouldn’t be telling Cologero not to be like him. I know that Sonny has trust issues but that does not affect him being a good person or not. Sonny’s having trust issues is just his way of trying to protect himself from getting taken advantage of, and keep control. The reason why he has these trust issues is probably because he was taken advantage of in the past, and does not want it to happen again.
This quote shows that he does not care about his future in education. “They gave me frequent warning to start applying myself- but I didn’t do it.” One of the major factors for Holden’s depression is his multiple
Therefor he is only just acting on his theory and doing nothing, whilst source three would argue that maybe he should go back a look at the situation again and look for a different theory as to why the world is the way it is and act on the new theory. Source two also goes against the statement of source one where men cannot bear to see the suffering of others. The man in source two clearly cares for his comfort and wellbeing vs. the comfort and wellbeing for others which goes against what source one had to say. Source two does not care how big of a mess the world is as long as it does affect him. He is doing busy doing nothing to ease
It is relentlessly passed on and around, constantly being shunned so that it never lands on, or is handed to, one specific person or group. Does not taking blame for something – particularly something you did not do – make you a bad person? From personal experience, one might say that society makes it seem so. In reality, however, that is not always – and usually is not – the case. For example, one might be “set-up” or framed for something, or simply be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
He has no self-worth and does not view himself as a worthwhile catch. He has a very negative outlook on things, but is very caring. He always seems to be showing consideration to others and putting others before himself. I believe that his low self-esteem could have been caused by his
Without experiencing the full effect of both societies, a statesman is greatly at a disadvantage. To fully appreciate what you have, one must view it from an objective point of view. Politicians and statesmen support issues with a vested interest in the outcome. Most of them are confined to their states or residence, meaning an opportunity to leave the country will never rise. The roles of these men require their continued presence in these areas at all times.
