2012 Summer Olympics or London 2012 as they say is the Olympics for the best of the best. Around 10,500 athletes participated in this major event. This Olympic is a big deal for millions of people around the world. Athletes around the world are persevering to be able to join in this event. Before you could participate in this event, an athlete must pass a lot of hardships and trainings. Training 24/7 is not a joke. It is not easy as what you thought it would be. Being an athlete serves as a hero nowadays. They compete not for themselves but for their country as well. Athletes must surpass the 204 NOCs (National Olympic Committee) to be able to compete at the Summer Olympics. Athletes who passed are pursuing their dream to be a part of the competition and make history by beating the World and Olympic Records. They want to prove something about their selves and for their country as well. As what I’ve seen, I’m really impressed with all the athletes who participated. They want to make a change. Especially to those who wants to beat a record. And as well as with the first timers who didn’t gave up despite of their incapability. I am amazed and glad for the athletes who were able to have their name at the World and Olympic Records. Beating a record for athletes is like winning on a lottery. And as what the athletes say, “It is a dream came true!” There are few of athletes particularly in Weightlifting who wasn’t able to perform properly. Just like Matthias Steiner and our fellow Filipino Hidilyn Diaz. I am still bothered of their condition as of now. Injuries or accidents are part of the game as what they say, “No pain, no gain.” With what happened to them, they gain something about their selves. They learned from their mistakes and that’s part of life. And I’m sure that for the following Olympics, we will see them smiling and retrieve their loss.
